No Global Warming: Are You Kidding?
While the rest of us are trying to save humankind from extinction due to global warming, there are still some people out there who still stubbornly believe that there is no global warming. In fact, there are many scientists out there that keep on saying that there is no global warming and that the activities of humans do not contribute to the destruction of the earth. No global warming? Are you kidding?
What Makes You Think There Is No Global Warming?
You do not have to have a PhD to know as to whether or not global warming is here. Even if you do not read all those fancy reports made by scientists from all over the world, you can already observe the changes in the climate in your locality. For instance, if you happen to live in an area where there are some glaciers, you will notice the changes in these glaciers.
Note that for the past several years, the glaciers around the planet have been melting due to extreme heat. According to studies, about 84% the glaciers in the Antarctic have shown signs of melting in the past 50 years due to warmer climate. On the other hand, the Peruvian Andes which have always been known for its great glacier caps have been reported to be melting really fast for the past 50 years due to warmer weather. Given the fact that the glaciers in many parts of the world are melting due to warmer weather, one cannot really say in all honesty that there is no global warming.
Can You Do Something To Prevent Global Warming?
Everyone can help prevent global warming. According to experts, one of the best ways to prevent global warming is to start planting trees. All types of trees can reduce the level of carbon dioxide in the atmosphere so there are very effective in reducing the amount of greenhouse gases. Note that greenhouse gases are the primary culprits for global warming. If we can reduce the amount of greenhouse gases in the atmosphere, we may be able to stop the earth from heating up further.
Aside from plating trees, we can help prevent global warming by reducing our fuel consumption. If possible, we must avoid burning fossil foil. Note that burning of fossil fuel releases tremendous amounts of carbon dioxide into the atmosphere. Instead of riding our cars everyday, we should start using other forms of transportation that does not require the burning of fossil fuel. A good example of transportation that does not burn fossil fuel is the bicycle.
