Although to most people global warming is an obvious and proven threat, there are still those who believe that it is a global warming fraud, and in other words that there is no real worry in terms of global warming and that it is all a sort of conspiracy, that it is being made into something much more than it really is.
The Basic Idea of Global Warming Fraud
One of the reasons that some people believe in the global warming fraud is because there were similar scares in the past, of which were orchestrated by radical environmentalists, such as Alar, global cooling, the ‘population bomb’, and electromagnetic fields, for instance, all of which were eventually debunked by scientists and no longer do they appear in the speeches or platforms of public officials.
Another basis behind the idea of global warming fraud is that most scientists do not believe that human activities actually threaten to disrupt the Earth’s climate, and in fact more than 17,000 scientists have signed a petition which was circulated by the Oregon Institute of Science and Medicine, saying that in part, “there is no convincing scientific evidence that human release of carbon dioxide, methane, or other greenhouse gases is causing or will, in the foreseeable future, cause catastrophic heating of the Earth’s atmosphere and disruption of the Earth’s climate”.
There is also the fact that the world’s most reliable sources of temperature do not show any global warming trend, as satellite readings of temperatures in the lower troposphere show no warming since readings began in the first place, 23 years ago. These readings are accurate to within 0.01 degrees Celsius, and as well they are consistent with data from weather balloons.
Furthermore there is the matter of how global climate computer models are too crude to be able to properly and accurately predict future climate changes, and so these thus can not be considered as being reliable in any way. In order to get the models to be able to produce predictions that are actually close to their designers’ expectations, modelers are in turn resorting to flux adjustments, as they call them, of which can turn out to be up to 25 times larger than the effect of doubling carbon dioxide concentrations.
